What belongs in the plan

The organization plan describes what the organization wants to achieve in the performance period. It should include clear result areas, objectives, KPIs, targets, timelines, and responsible units.

Make priorities easy to use

A strong plan is simple enough for staff to understand and precise enough for managers to measure.

  • Use plain objective names.
  • Add KPIs that show whether progress is happening.
  • Set targets that can be measured.
  • Assign responsible units before allocating work to staff.
  • Approve the plan only when it is ready to guide performance records.
